Ladakh Moonland
It is located 15 Kilometers east of the famous Fotu La pass on the Leh to Srinagar highway, Lamayuru is popularly referred to as moonland by the Ladaki people because of its peculiar land surface which closely looks like the surface seen on moon. The mystique of the Lamayuru monastery located here is unmatched by any other in the entire Ladakh region.
Lamayuru Monastery
Lamayuru also called Yuru Monastery. It is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery lies in Leh district, Ladakh, India. It is situated on the Srinagar-Leh highway 15 kilometres east of the Fotu La at a height which is 3,510 metres, you can have a view of moonland nearby here.
Best time to visit Leh Ladak:
Best time to go to Ladak is on Summer season, that’s from April to June. If you do not ready to manage at that point you’ll continue July & August, Mansoon will start at that point and temperature might do down on July & August.
Fatula Top
Fatula Top is the highest point of the Srinagar Leh Road, It’s height is 13479 Feet above from sea level.
If you’re travelling between Srinagar and Leh, you’ll definitely undergo the very best point on the highway, the Fotu La Pass. The scenic view which attracts many travellers. Moving on to the Leh side, you will find Lamayuru Town famous for its Unique Lunar Landscapes.
Srinagar – Leh Highway
Srinagar is the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated in the Kashmir Valley and lies on the banks of the Jhelum River, a tributary of the Indus. The city is famous for its gardens, lakes and houseboats. Many of people known Srinagar as Kashmir.
The Srinagar – Leh Highway is a national highway of India 1D (NH 1D) which is 434 KM long. This road connects Leh, Ladakh with the rest of India via Kargil and Kashmir Valley.
