Popular For Trekking
Manang is the popular tourist destination for trekking in Nepal situated across Annapurna range. Many of Domestic and Foreigners Tourist came to visit Thorang La pass, Tilicho lake located at this district. Tilicho lake is situated at 4, 919 meters above from the sea level.
How to Reach Manang?
To reach Manang you can take Bus from Kathmandu or Pokhara to Besisahar (Lamjung). You have to stay at Besishar for one night because of the Manang Jeep Service only operate Besisahar to Manang Jeep service at morning time. In Besisahr you have to go to Manange Chautara Jeep Station and ask the Jeep driver about the availability of seats and their departure time. Usually they don’t pre book ticket for passengers and they only depart from Beshisahar after they got seat full passengers.
Nowadays Flight from Kathmandu to Manang and Pokhara to Manang is not available due to Manang Airport is out of service.
Eye Care Services in Manang
Nepal Eye Program, Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology is providing eye care services for Mountainous Population of Manang district of Nepal.
The Community Eye Centre, Manang is situated in Chame (District Head Office of Manang). It was established in Nov 2014. In collaboration between District Health Office Manang and Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, Kathmandu the eye centre is providing services. This is the only one eye care facilities for Manang District.
Food and Accommodation Cost
For Hotel room it is not so expensive you can pre book hotel, but food is bit expensive in Manang, Nepal. For Nepali food Rice, Lentils and vegetable it cost around NRS 500. You can buy dry foods in the market but due to high transportation cost all goods available in the market cost higher for you as compared to the Kathmandu and Pokhara.
