Sita Air is a private airlines company located in Kathmandu Nepal, It was established in October 2000 and started Sita air begins its first commercial flight on 6 February 2003 with the single German-built Dornier DO-228 aircraft. Today Sita Air has four Dornier DO-228 Aircraft. Sita Air, Nepal is mostly known for its regular short takeoff and landing STOL flights to the remote mountain area of Nepal. Tribhuvan International airport is the primary hub of Sita air and Nepalgunj Airport is the secondary hub.

Sita Air is currently operating its services as passengers and cargo flights to the various remote domestic destinations of Nepal.

Dornier Do 228 is a twin-turboprop Short Take Off Landing STOL aircraft, designed and first manufactured by Dornier GmbH (later DASA Dornier, Fairchild-Dornier) from 1981 until 1998. 245 were built in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. In 1983, Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) bought a production licence and manufactured another 125 aircraft in Kanpur, India. Indian Air force also using the 19-seater aircraft.
